I and my wife had a blast. I guess after the trip the wives finally figured out that sitting on the sidelines was not that boring at all.

We did great, even when we are down, we were never out. Those quick 2 goals we scored on Mud were wonderful, it showed them who we are. I think it's now safe to say we are not afraid of any team, Mud, Tiger, we had our chances to beat them.

I learned a lot from a tournament like this, a lot of times, one goal is all it takes to separate the winner and loser, and each goal (or each critical defensive play) is so important. I believe our defense core is among the best of all teams, but still, there are lot of room to improve: comminucation with goalie (the mistake I made during the game with Tiger was a good example), defending corners and free kicks (always put a defender on the opposite corner of the goalie), blank covering skills (one player shadows, another goes for the loose ball), etc.

We had the excellent group of forwards too, each goal we scored was brilliant, with that said, we need more solid mid-field players, these guys wear done fast because of the runninngs up and down, so we could really use 7-8 of them(some ball controllers and passers like Ray, Jeff, Tom, some excellent defensive mid-fielders like Mark and Binbin) ... oh, Xiao Luo, where were you?

And mentally we are there already! Just look back at the PK show we had, man it was a classic.

Many thanks to Mark, Tim, Binbin, and Dentist for all the dirty work, Tom, Ken on the advice, many many more for various sacrafices, and for Dick & Ding Yu, get well fast.

p.s. Talking about the pictures, what's the deal with Bai Qiang? I guess he was awarded the best defensive player or some kind of special achievement, or was he? :)

I have always enjoyed reading your comments. Thanks for all the support from

you and your wife (I guess Tommy Girl does need a title). Next year Tim is

going to be our team's GM.

So far, only Jet Chang indicated that he is not able to make the celebration

party. What a pity.

Anyway, let's all get enough drink at least this Saturday!

Our strong defense play saved us from time to time. These kind words are

I saw the pain on BinBing's fave when he was counting the handred bucks

out of his wallet:-) Was that where the negative figure coming from:-)

Anyhow, BinBing did a super job managing our bucks and those little

tasks(nobody wanted to even touch:-) through out the whole period, he

should be granted both the CFO+COO titles:-)

Do let us know if we need to fill the $100 gap, or may be

a bottle of MoTai would do that?:-)

If not for Dentist's persistent persuasion and superb diplomatic backhand

dealings, many of the players might not even had the chance to know that

LA was actually hotter than Dallas:-) not to mention would have missed

the fun of the tournament. All of the guys who bought into Dentist's

words over that one weekend(Bill, Jeff, Ken, Huan, Ray, and myself),

should feel thankful that the bet had paid off.

Even so, it had proved that more legs are the better in such a

tournament. If we weren't for lossing the two youngsters and Yu Ding

during the tournament games, not to mention that we lost Xiao Luo before

the team aboarded the plane, we would have had a shot at the title.

But, hey, that gives us a reason to come back next year, doesn't it?

All the wifes'(including mine:-) and family members' support were crucial

for the team's sucess, especially the ones with the kids(e.g., Dentist's).

Hats off to them, for their support of their husbands to make to the trip

at the first place and to stay with the team throught out the games, under

the hot suns in the Southern Cal's valley.

Mark, you did a great job of serving the team and your work is greatly

appreciated. Let's work together to prepare a even better team for

next year's tournament and the ones coming down the road. Like Ken

mentioned, we want to get our hands on the big one.

But for now, it's time to get drunk and to show off your bruised arms

and legs on the dinning table this weekend, or dare you?:-)
