Qualifications/Requirements
· Four year degree in computer science (or a related discipline) is preferred.
· Four to ten years experience as a systems analyst, business analyst or similar data processing position as a business unit liaison to or for IT. One year or more with an e-commerce focus is highly desirable.
· Proven ability in creating specifications, project plans, test plans, business cases, RFPs, and user documentation.
· Ability to communicate (both verbally and written) and work closely with end users in defining business requirements and translating those requirements to systems requirements.
· Solid analytical skills and the ability to apply logic in problem solving.
· People skills to support interaction with both technical and non-technical individuals.
· Basic knowledge of Windows NT and Unix platforms is preferred. Business or technical knowledge of Websphere products would be a strong plus.
· Solid experience with SQL and relational databases required.
· Functional knowledge of HTML is required.
· Experience with design/development methodologies and product development life cycle is highly preferred.
· Sense of humor and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
· Analyze customer requirements and devise solutions. Translate user needs into requirements/specification documents. Create specifications, project plans, test plans, business cases, RFPs, and user documentation for moderate to highly complex application development efforts.
· Ability to define and document functionality of existing systems and apply that knowledge to future assignments.
· Design, document, and support multiple applications/systems of varying complexity levels.
· Provide business and technical expertise to maintain, enhance and design application systems to meet user requirements or functional design documentation.
· Assist team to develop, execute, and adhere to detailed test plans for assigned projects.
· Test software enhancements to ensure no errors remain prior to delivery, identifying problems relative to business practices that would ordinarily only be detected by the end-user.
· Develop project, testing and ongoing management plans for web site enhancements as well as developing appropriate documentation materials.
· Support programming team by researching production issues and enhancement requests.
· Act as user liaison between IT and end-user departments.
· Maintain current knowledge of internet business practices, including emerging technologies in all aspects of design and deployment.
· Maintain detailed knowledge of GLI business practices.
