All Soccer Fans, There are some concerns about soccer practices, thus I am forwarding this email so that we all know about it at least. Concerns/worries/troubles have started to breed....... Let's think of ways to improve our soccer community and plays. Cheers, -Chen, Si -----Original Message----- Hi Mark/Tom: I'd like to vent a bit of my concerns as an old Dragoner if I may. From my observation, it seems that the existing Dragon team is drifting away from the soccer community, a.k.a., "Sunday chaotic mass", intentionally or unintentionally. I have seen words, attitudes and actions that has been creating more and more friction every week. I am seeing two camps in forming, Dragoners and non-Dragoners, I am afraid the next thing will be exactly what happened in the old days when team White and team Red fist fight each other every chance we played together. well, it is no where near that yet, and let's hope it won't happen. We have overcome that through hard way, learned to played together and be friends; and I think as leaders, you and Tom have the responsibility and opportunity to preserve and nurture the friendly environment. Team Dragon has every right to organize its practices the way that's best for the team and games. But it does not have to conduct in a way that alienates the rest of the soccer community or, even worse, trashes the non-Dragoner group along the way. And this is simple to achieve, what bothers people are the insensitivity, and fantasized superiority over others, so just be sensitive, and recognize players are not equally talented but should be treated equally with respect; recognize the differences between league team practice and Sunday pickup games; recognize the differences between a organized league team and a self-regulated soccer community. We are all glad that our soccer community continues to grow, Dragon, in my opinion, needs to be the core of this community that's open and appealing to the new comers instead of being a closed secretive society. I am whole heartily wishing Dragon can reach the championship this season and also wish that the Chinese soccer community can genuinely feel proud of the Dragon team as if everyone is part of the team. Thanks for the venting, it might be just me worrying too much in which case ignore this and move on, but if you have the same feelings then the rest of the hard work, as usual, is yours. Go Dragon!
